Q. What is involved in the process of Electrolysis?

A. A fine, hair-like probe is placed in the hair follicle, followed by a small electrical current which destroys the hair papilla (hair growth source). The Hair is then easily removed with tweezers.

Q. Can all body parts benefit from Electrolysis?

A. Electrolysis can be performed on virtually every body part, excluding inside the nose and ears.

Q. How many electrolysis treatments will I need before I could consider my hair problem permanently gone?

A. Electrolysis requires a series of treatments, and everyone responds differently. Depending upon the individual’s hair resistance, some hairs are destroyed with the first treatment, while other hair my need to go through what is referred as a “breaking down” process. It is important that the hair is treated aggressively, but only to the point where the skin surface remains unharmed, Initially you may expect weekly appointments. As your treatments progress, your scheduled appointments will become progressively more infrequent. Eventually, you will be hair free! Some areas may require a minimal periodic “clean –ups” 2-3 times annually

Q. When I leave your office, will I be Hair free

A. Our objective is that when you leave my office, you will be hair free. The amount of unwanted hair you want removed is a factor. Keep in mind that we are only able to treat the hair that is visible and long enough to be tweezed after treatment, the underlying hair, just beneath the surface of the skin will eventually emerge and need treatment.

Q. Am I a good candidate for Electrolysis?

A. Anyone without skin disorders or health concerns qualifies.
